Malankara Orthodox Choir Association

The Liturgy of the Malankara Orthodox Church in India is the basis of the spiritual life of the Church. His Holiness Baselius Marthoma Paulose II in the Kalpana 178/2013 has  emphasised the need for

  • proper functioning of parish and private choirs under the direct guidance and responsibility of parish priests

  • ensuring good quality in the functioning of the choirs, and

  • the necessity for assessment and accreditation of Choirs by a properly authorised central institution of the Church.

Our church has its own choir group that helps the harmony and encourages worship in all the services held within the church especially the Holy Qurbana. The Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church is proud of its worshiping heritage. It is through the worship that the faith, traditions, and practice of our fathers are transmitted down the generations.

Our choir meets every first and third Saturdays and sometimes after the Sunday liturgy. If you are interested in singing with us, please contact the church vicar or Ms. Sophy Samuel.
