Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam

Martha Mariam Vanitha Samajam is the Women’s wing of the Malankara Orthodox Church of India. The group comes together for study, prayer and fellowship. All women are invited to join in the monthly prayer meetings which involve learning new Christian songs and studying the bible. The central theme for all meetings is to encourage fasting, meditation and prayer for spiritual growth and spiritual strength. The group is able to build a community of support through the monthly prayer meetings. The group also gets involved in coming to the aid of women who are held back because of social and economic circumstances.

 

The head office of this association “Vanitha Samajam Mandiram” is at Kanjikuzhi, Kottayam, Kerala. All women of our church above the age of 25 years are eligible to be members of this association. The motto of this organization being “Pray, Act and Shine”, all the members of this association come together and pray, help the poor, the needy and the sick.

St.Mary’s Orthodox Syrian Church, Pune, started its activities of MMVS in Jan 1991 and is currently working with full spirit under the president ship of Rev. Fr. Sajeev K. Varghese, the vicar.

Fasting prayer meeting is held on 1st Friday of every month between 10:30 am and 12 noon. Members also meet after the Holy Qurbana on 4th Sundays.
